About Us
- TRAC
is a Center for
Independent Living created by individuals with disabilities
for individuals with disabilities.

TRAC
is Centrally located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. TRAC
serves 10 counties in southeast Tennessee.

Not
only does TRAC serve those with disabilities, over half
of the staff is comprised of persons with disabilities.

TRAC
offers Five Core Services which include:
Advocacy - Educates the community on disability
related issues. Advocates for the full implementation of the
Independent Living Philosophy. Assists with accessibility
surveys and provides education and training on the Americans with
Disabilities Act to individuals, agencies or businesses.
Resources for Independent Living
encourages people with disabilities to become self-advocates by
helping them to understand his/her rights. Independent
Living Resources helps with removing of barriers, personal
assistance, transportation needs and housing.
Information and Referral (I&R)-
Information and referral services are offered for anyone
requesting information on topics that can assist people with
disabilities. I&R identifies agencies and services
available to assist individuals in the achievement of independent
living. Maintains a resource of disability related materials
available to the general public and
the business community.
I&R also produces newsletters for consumers and the public.
Peer Support - Provides individuals with
disabilities assistance in peer support services by, listening,
sharing similar experiences, helping to cope with disabilities
giving requested information, and the phone buddy program.
Examples of topics include: housing, jobs, finances,
transportation, personal attendants, schooling, and general
problems related to disabilities.
Independent Living Skills - Provides
consumer
requested independent
living skills training and
programs to groups and
individuals.
Nursing Home Transition - Relocating
individuals
with disabilities from nursing homes back into the
community to live independently.
Ramp Project:
From October 1, 1999 to April 13, 2005, TRAC
has served 415 consumers
by furnishing them with
ADA compliant ramps.

Assistive Devices, Attendant Services, Children's Services, Communication,
Education, Employment Assistance, Housing Assistance,
Meetings, Mobility Training, Outreach, Personal Assistance,
Preventative Services, Ramps, Recruitment, Service to Family
Members, Transportation, Volunteer, and Youth Services.

Due to the fact our services are
provided at no cost, we do rely heavily on donations.
Through your generosity we are able to provide more services that
benefit more persons with disabilities. If you would like to
